The start and end dates of spring and fall semesters in Afghanistan depend on the seasonal weather in various provinces of the country. According to the Ministry of Higher Education Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the spring and fall semesters in tropical provinces starts in the following months:

There are two semesters per annum. Teaching in each semester lasts for 16 weeks.
